A Rocha (The Rock) – youth center in Cubatao focused on giving teenagers alternative activities to the drugs, crime and generally immoral lifestyle that is prevalent in Brazil. Our goal is to form partnerships with businesses and government to secure additional grants and funding to help grow the youth center.

Favelas (Slums) – we go four times per week to help teach English in Ilha Bela (Beautiful Island) and Vilha Esperanca (Village of Hope). These are two poor neighborhoods that are part of a program to teach English to the kids. The objective of the program is to teach the kids a valuable skill that will enable them to land good jobs when they are older. This should allow them afford to live in middle class neighborhoods and slow the growth of the Favela neighborhoods. Many times we use Bible stories, Worship Songs, or games to teach English. Over time, many of the students accept Christ and become involved in a local church.

Vida Em Cristo (Life in Christ) - This is the church we attend.  It is growing in both its adult and youth programs.  They offer Sunday AM and PM services along with Wednesday night Bible Study and youth group.  We are excited to be able to assist Aaron Brakefield (the church pastor) in most of these ministries.  Our goal is to help the church with community outreach projects.
